WHAT IS NANOTECHNOLOGY:

  • The word Nanotechnology defines the nanotechnology. Nano means a microparticle that is indivisible to see without our eye but works more than 1000 times faster, and efficiently than humans
  • Nanotechnology means a technology that can be done in smaller things

  •  we can use this technology in various fields like medicine, agriculture, automobile, construction, production, and many more you can know more about this technology in further reading of this article

  • A nanometer is a tiny unit of length billionth(10-9) of a meter IT is 10^-9 m and 10^-7cm in length. Just imagine how small is a nanometer(nm)? A single human hair is about 80,000 to 100,000nm wide.
  • Nanotechnology has a great power that when you change the size of a particle, it can change color, for example. That's because, in nanometer-scale particles, the arrangement of atoms reflects light differently.
  • Nanotechnology can increase the surface area. This allows more atoms to interact with other materials. Increasing surface area is one of the reasons to make nanometer-scale materials are stronger, more durable, and more conducive
  • Scientists study these properties for various uses, from altering consumer products such as clothes to revolutionizing medicine and tackling environmental issues.
  • Scientists and engineers are using nanotechnology to enhance World technology development. By coating fabrics with a thin layer of zinc oxide nanoparticles, for instance, manufacturers can create clothes that give better protection from ultraviolet radiation, like that from the sun.
  •  Some clothes have nanoparticles in the form of little hairs or whiskers that help repel water and other materials, making the fabric more stain-resistant.
  • Some researchers are experimenting with nanotechnology for "personal climate control." Nanofiber jackets allow the wearer to control the jacket’s warmth using a small set of batteries.
  • Many cosmetic products contain nanoparticles. Nanoparticles are everywhere in this world

NANOTECHNOLOGY IN DAILY LIFE:

Nanotechnology is used in many different ways in our daily life like in clothing, Furniture, Adhesives, Coatings for car paintwork, Tennis balls, Computers, Cosmetic products, etc...

1. Sunscreen:

Nanoparticles have been added to sunscreen for years to make them more effective. Two particular types of nanoparticles commonly added to sunscreen are titanium dioxide and zinc oxide. These tiny particles are not only highly effective at blocking UV radiation, but they also feel lighter on the skin, which is why modern sunscreens are nowhere near as thick and gloopy as the sunscreens we were slathered as kids.

2. Clothing:

Nanotechnology is most used in clothing also in which silver nanoparticles are added to clothes which are having the capability to kill bacteria. The silver nanoparticles have positively charged ions that prevent the bacteria cell from functioning.so Nanoparticles have a wide range of usage in clothing.

3. Furniture:

In the same way that clothing can be made waterproof and stainproof through nanotechnology, so too can upholstered furniture. Even better, nanotechnology is also helping to make furniture less flammable; by coating the foam used in upholstered furniture with carbon nanofibers, manufacturers can reduce flammability by up to 35 percent.

4. Adhesives:

Adhesives are any substances that hold materials together and attach to a surface like gum Adhesives Nanotechnology is used in these adhesives examples of adhesives are cement, mucilage, glue, and paste Nanotechnology is used to make them more effective and more durable together.

5. Tennis balls

Nanotechnology is also used in sports. Here one of my favourite sports tennis balls is also made of some nano particles. Some tennis balls are double cored in which the lower layer is made of clay nanoparticles and it is used in many more.

6. Computers:

Nanotechnology has wide use in the building of computers. Nanotechnology enhances the usage of computers by performing and by using this we can build processors and chips which are major components in building the computer.

NANOTECHNOLOGY AND NANOSCIENCE:

NANOSCIENCE:

The word Nanoscience refers to nanoparticles ranging from about 10 to 100 nm only which works bigger but the size is smaller shows different colors like red, blue, green, yellow, and many more depending on different sizes of the nanoparticles from 10 to 100 nm.

NANOTECHNOLOGY:

Nanotechnology will eventually provide us with the ability to design custom-made materials and products with new enhanced properties, new nanoelectronics components, new types of “smart” medicines and sensors, and even interfaces between electronics and biological systems…Control of these disciplines, therefore, requires an academic and multidisciplinary scientific education.

Applications on NanoTechnology:

1) Nanotechnology in Medicine:

When nanotechnology is used in the field of medicine then it is called nanomedicine. Nanotechnology has a wide range of uses in medicine, Generally, we get a lot of health problems like fever, cough, cold, Headache, and many more, and some health problems are very dangerous like cancer, diabetes, etc.

Nano Medicine has the potential to cure problems really quick  and in a simpler way with the help of nanomedicine  we can easily detect diseases quickly know more about their condition and give better treatment to the person for different problems different sizes of nanoparticles are used to cure the disease with using nanotechnology our body tissues can be reproduced and these are called artificial simulated tissues and used in tissue engineering.

Nanomedicine will detect the problem and give correct diagnostics and treatment. Mainly it is used in detecting cancer and it has also been used in COVID-19 times to find vaccines. It will detect the visible change in the formation of tissue and cause cancer and any other disease It also gives the types of stages of cancer.MRI and CT scans in hospitals are usually taken by using nanotechnology.

2) Nanotechnology in Products:

Nanotechnology  when used in product manufacturing then they are called nano products and some of them are sunscreen, clothing, computers, furniture, adhesives, and many more.

Clothing: Nanotechnology is most used in clothing also in which silver nanoparticles are added to clothes which are having the capability to kill bacteria.

Sunscreen: Nanoparticles have been added to sunscreen for years to make them more effective. Two  types of nanoparticles commonly added  are titanium dioxide and zinc oxide.

Adhesives: Adhesives are any substances that hold materials together and attach to a surface like gum Adhesives Nanotechnology is used in these adhesives and many more.

 3)Nanobots Technology:

Nanobot technology is going to be a crucial thing in the futuristic world. A nanobot technology is like a small robot that can work effectively with human orders we can use it to know about minor details in a human body or any other objects like machinery etc. It is like a robot built on a nanometer scale ranging from 10 to 1000 micrometers. It is mainly useful in medical science like we can use to do treatments of person by using this small robot. They can do the preprogrammed plan in the construction or installation.

It can enter through the body and make diagnoses and can do many things like open and closing wounds they are used to recognize cancer and many major diseases and help in treatment related to the brain, Heart, Diabetes, etc.

4)Nano Technology in Agriculture:

In recent times nanotechnology has gotten bigger in the agriculture and food sectors also. Nanotechnology is getting popular in agriculture due to its effectiveness it diagnoses small particles ranging from  1 to 100 nanometers and tries to increase crop production scientist made a small thing that can observe and kill small bugs and insects that cause disease to crops

With the help of nanotools, scientists can solve the problems in the agriculture sector and improve the condition of the soil they suggest which crop is best to grow in this soil and also give a report about the percentage of elements, water, etc This gives framer confidence grow crops without harming the crops.

In most of the small countries, their GDP value mainly depends on the agriculture sector if more amount of food comes from the field it will be used to increase the GDP value of the country so, scientists are using nanotechnology to increase crop production and increase GDP. In the past few years, nanotechnology changed how food is growing and keeping it better day by day.

5)Nano Tech Suits:

Using Nanotechnology we can build sculptures made up of tiny nanoparticles like Iron Man suits in Marvel movies. We can build them portable to use but unfortunately, we are unable to build them in modern-day using current technology as we learn more about nanotechnology further we can able to build them in the future. If we can build them then we can make anything easily. It also plays a crucial role in a futuristic world.
